Sandra is an award-winning journalist with two decades experience in newspaper, magazine and broadcast journalism. Sandra is the author of the critically acclaimed self help book for women titled, "The New Latina's Bible: The Modern Latina's Guide to Love, Spirituality, Family and La Vida."
She is the former editor in chief of Latina magazine, the first national glossy lifestyle magazine targeting the American Hispanic woman. She is also a former Associate Editor at the New York Post, editing ten feature sections for the venerable City tabloid including, Tempo, a section she created that covered the city's Latino community.
Sandra's experience writing, producing stories about Latino newsmakers and icons has made her a leading expert in journalism targeting the burgeoning Hispanic market.
She's a dynamic public speaker with extensive experience delivering keynote addresses and workshops on college campuses and Fortune 500 companies on topics involving media, race, women, politics and diversity.
Sandra worked as an assignment manager and producer at Telemundo's evening news (WNJU-TV) where in 1995 she won an EMMY for "The Cuban Embargo (Embargo Contra Cuba) - a half hour ground-breaking special on the U.S. embargo against the island nation. It was the station's first News and Public Affairs Programming Emmy.
Sandra began her career as a general assignment reporter at El Diario La Prensa, New York's largest and oldest Spanish-language newspaper.
Sandra is a graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
